Felix grew up in Medicine Hat, Alberta. He spent many years in the Canadian Forces Reserves, participating in an officer-training program that provided him with some valuable life skills, and also helped to finance his university education. He took his Bachelor of Arts and Science degree, with majors in mathematics and English literature, from the University of Lethbridge in 1993, and later that year moved to Vancouver Island to pursue graduate studies at the University of Victoria. Felix has worked locally in public practice since 1997 and was designated a chartered accountant in 1999. Since 2004 he has operated the practice in Sooke, providing his clients with a wide range of accounting, tax, and assurance-related services. Between 2011 and 2014 Felix was a participant in the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course, which is a three year part-time comprehensive tax program for professional accountants and lawyers who work full-time on income tax matters. Felix is a motorcycle enthusiast and has enjoyed many trips on his Harley Davidson VROD.

Melanie has been a member of the firm since 2007. She was born and raised in a French household in Winnipeg and did all her schooling in French, including her first year at the Collège Universitaire de St. Boniface where she made the Dean’s Honour List. She graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree with a major in Accounting in 2000 and obtained her Certified General Accountant (CGA) designation in 2004. Melanie has extensive experience with bookkeeping and has provided client assistance in QuickBooks and Sage 50. She routinely does year-end file preparation for compilations and review engagements, including corporate tax returns. She also prepares personal tax returns, Goods and Services Tax (GST), Provincial Sales Tax (PST), and other regulatory filings. When she’s not working, she and her family enjoy camping on Vancouver Island, cruising the Caribbean and driving around the city in their electric car.
